Product description
A solvent-borne, single pack Chlorinated Rubber Based Material designed for application over a wide range of climatic conditions to provide a cosmetic finish accommodated with a complete Chlorinated Rubber System for the protection of steel against corrosive environmental conditions.
Special features
• Very good adhesion characteristics. • Easy to apply and is quick drying. • Can be applied over epoxy priming system and conventional primers as well. • Suitable for low temperature applications and upon complete drying withstands below zero / freezing point temperatures. • Highly resistant to water and alkaline surfaces. • Suitable for marine applications and can be easily maintained. • Resistant to chemically contaminated atmospheres in Industrial Environments i.e., Chemical fumes, vapours, ... etc.
Where to use
As a long term decorative and protective finish coat over Steel Surfaces, and suitably primed Non-Ferrous Metals and Concrete / Masonry Substrates i.e., • Bridges and flyovers Steel Beams • Structural Steel Sheets Machineray and Equipments • Areas subjected to total, partial or intermittent Chemical Plants and Cold attack/spillages/immersion of salt and fresh water. Storage Room Internals

Standards and approvals
Supportive information is available upon request to establish an assessment to be acquired as with regards to product's compliance with/to a particular authority's queries / specifications. Please consult with GTC Technical Service Dept.
Surface preparation
• Degrease areas of grease, oil, soil and other surface contamination where exist in accordance with SSPC-SP1 Solvent Cleaning (Use GTC 002 Thinner). • Accumulated dirt and loosely adhering powdery foreign material should be hand wire brushed / mechanical power tool cleaned in accordance with SSPC-SP2 and/or SSPC- SP3 Standards. • Soluble salts should be fresh water washed and left to dry. • Areas of corrosion should be removed and suitably patch primed. • Ensure surface to be coated is dry, clean and contamination free prior to paint application process.
Where to use
Recommended for two coat applications over suitably primed / undercoated metal and concrete surfaces.
Mixing and thinning
Material must be properly mixed and is recommended for thinning with GTC044CR Thinner as per below table:- | APPLICATION METHOD | BRUSH/ROLLER | CONV. SPRAY | AIRLESS SPRAY | |--------------------|--------------|---------------|---------------| | Thinning by volume (% Max.) | 10% | * Not Recommended | 5% | * Conventional Spray Application is not recommended.
Important restrictions
• Brush and Roller can be used for small/confined areas; yet film build only likely to be achieved by multi-coat applications. • Material tends to soften and decompose above 80 °C (176 °F). • Material must be overcoated with Chlorinated Rubber Paints only. • Thicker films remain soft and therefore should be allowed longer than stated Minimum Overcoating Intervals inorder to minimize Solvent Entrapment. • An excellent corrosion resistant system can be introduced when this material overcoats Getachlor CRH Series High Build Coat.
Cleaning tools
For cleaning tools and equipments use GTC044 CR Thinner.
Application conditions
At a temperature ranging 5°C (41°F) to 40°C (104°F). Relative humidity is below 75%.
Storage and handling
Product must be stored as per local regulations and should be kept in dry well ventilated location far from heat and direct sunlight. Can should be tightly closed after use. Mix well before use. Storage temperature range between 5°C (41°F) to 40°C (104 °F).
Safety precautions
The following notes should be considered when using/applying painting material:- (a) Take precautions to prevent material entering the eyes (goggles should be worn, irrigate the eyes with water when become contaminated and obtain medical care at once). (b) Take precautions to avoid skin contact (gloves should be worn, barrier cream should be used). (c) Ensure that repeated contact of paint with skin is avoided. (d) Provide adequate ventilation. (Face masks must be worn). (e) Keep away from sparks and open flames (for solvent-based materials).
