Product description
A high performance two-pack Acrylic Polyurethane Intermediate/Finish Coat based on Polyol / Polyisocyanate Resin, particularly designed to suit enormous application requirements of a Heavy Duty Coating over a wide range of substrates.
Special features
[ ] Excellent durability and weathering resistance. [ ] Excellent gloss and colour retention. [ ] High resistance to chemicals and severe industrial environments. [ ] Highly resistant to yellowing. [ ] Easily recoatable where no long-term overcoating restrictions are anticipated. [ ] Provides a pleasant decorative appeal. [ ] Low dirt & dust pick-up.
Where to use
As an Interior/Exterior decorative and protective finish coat offering an extremely hard/flexible film over concrete, steel, aluminium, tinned copper, galvanized steel, zinc coated steel, stone, bricks, wood, marble, gypsum boards, fiberglass, PVC & UPVC Pipes ... etc, i.e. [ ] Petrochemical Plants. [ ] Offshore platforms and marine installations. [ ] External concrete and masonry [ ] Furniture (Metal & wooden). [ ] Aluminium Window Frames and A/C ventilation covers. [ ] Particularly suited as a protective coat over textured systems, i.e., Rolltex and Trowtex [ ] Paints where minimum yellowing and dirt retention is anticipated. [ ] Well prepared steel structure subjected to proper priming and/or undercoating. [ ] Since Getathane GPF have the properties of hard glazed non porous film and washable scrub-resistant films (resistant to disinfectants) make it very difficult to harbour Micro-organisms.however scrubbing with disinfectants and chemicals is the most important requirement as no paint film is adequate without being thoroughly disinfected frequently. Surface preparation
1. Surfaces to be coated/overcoated must be dry, clean and free from contamination. 2. Degrease metal surfaces in accordance with SSPC-SP1 Solvent Cleaning. (Use GTC002 Thinner). 3. Porous surfaces i.e., concrete, masonry ... etc should be sound and free from laitance, powdery and foreign material. (Wire brushing and/or power tool cleaning is normally adequate in accordance with SSPC-SP2 and/or SSPC-SP3 Standards). 4. Non-ferrous surfaces i.e., Aluminium, copper, nickle ... etc. should be degreased and free from contamination. No pre-treatment is required.
Mixing and thinning
Individual components should be separately mixed and then added together according to stated mixing ratio where mixing should be properly done. Thinning with GTC Getathane Thinner should be carried out after mixing base with Curing Agent as per below table:- Application Method | Brush/Roller | Conv. Spray | Airless Spray Thinning by Vol (% Max.) | 20 % | 30% | 5 %
