Surface preparation
1. Degrease areas where grease, oil, soil and surface contamination exist in accordance with SSPC-SP1 Solvent Cleaning. (Use GTC002 Thinner). 2. Structural steel should be blast cleaned to SSPC-SP10 Standard (SA2½ Swedish Standard). 3. Surface defects revealed upon completion of blasting procedure should be treated as per individual situation (filling, grinding, replacement, patching ... etc.). 4. If oxidation is experienced after blasting, it is recommended to re-blast to the mentioned standard. 5. Areas restricted to abrasive blast cleaning are recommended to be hand wire brushed/mechanical power tool cleaned in accordance with SSPC-SP2 and/or SSPC-SP3 Standards to remove superficial and looseley adhering rust / corrosion products. 6. Surfaces to be coated must be dry, clean and contamination free prior to paint and application process.
Where to use
Intended for a single coat application over well prepared steel surfaces.
Mixing and thinning
Material must be properly mixed and is recommended for thinning with GTC099 Thinner as per below table:- Application Method | Brush/Roller | Conv. Spray | Airless Spray ------------------|--------------|-------------|-------------- Thinning by Vol (% Max.) | 10 % | 20% | 5 %
Important restrictions
⃞ For maximum performance, curing temperatures should be above 10 °C (50 °F) since material will not adequately cure below 5 °C (41 °F). ⃞ Two pack epoxies are commonly known to chalk upon external exposure. ⃞ It is not recommended to apply two pack epoxy material over 50 °C (122 °F)
Cleaning tools
For cleaning tools and equipments use GTC099 Thinner.
Application conditions
At a temperature ranging 5ºC (41ºF) to 40ºC (104 ºF). Relative humidity is below 75%.
Storage and handling
Product must be stored as per local regulations and should be kept in dry well ventilated location far from heat and direct sunlight. Can should be tightly closed after use. Mix well before use. Storage temperature range between 5ºC (41ºF) to 40ºC (104 ºF).
Safety precautions
The following notes should be considered when using/applying painting material:-- (a) Take precautions to prevent material entering the eyes (goggles should be worn, irrigate the eyes with water when become contaminated and obtain medical care at once). (b) Take precautions to avoid skin contact (gloves should be worn, barrier cream should be used). (c) Ensure that repeated contact of paint with skin is avoided. (d) Provide adequate ventilation. (Face masks must be worn). (e) Keep away from sparks and open flames (for solvent-based materials).
