A high quality primer based on Alkyd Resin containing Red Oxide and Zinc Chromate Anti-Corrosive Pigments intended for quality characteristics of a remarkable priming film over structural steel surfaces.
Special features
• Very good weather and rust resistant. • Easy to apply and quick drying. • Good adhesion to properly cleaned steel in mildly corrosive environments. • Contains Zinc Chromate and is lead free. • Not recommended for continuously immersed conditions.

Surface preparation
1. Degrease areas where grease, oil and other surfaces contamination exist in accordance with SSPC-SP1 Solvent Cleaning. (Use GTC002 Thinner). 2. Wire Brush/Mechanical Power Tool Clean areas where laitance, surface porosity and loosely adhering foreign material exist in accordance with SSPC-SP2 and/or SSPC-SP3 Standards. 3. Millscale should be removed by appropriate blasting procedures and overcoated after a max. of 6 hrs. i.e., Sand blasting Grit blasting, Shot blasting, Sweep blasting....ect. depending upon individual situations. 4. Surface to be coated must be dry, clean and contamination free prior to paint application process.
Where to use
• Intended for a single coat application over well prepared steel surfaces, and to be overcoated with conventional • Can also be used as a touch up coat over well prepared previously coated steel surfaces; yet exposed to partial/scattered rust and resulted in pealing/flaking off to existing paint coatings.
Mixing and thinning

Application conditions
At a temperature ranging 5°C (41°F) to 40°C (104°F). Relative humidity is below 75%.
Storage and handling
Product must be stored as per local regulations and should be kept in dry well ventilated location far from heat and direct sunlight. Can should be tightly closed after use. Mix well before use. Storage temperature range between 5°C (41°F) to 40°C (104°F).
Standards and approvals
GTC Red Oxide Primer is formulated to KUWAIT STANDARD SPECIFICATION KSS 14/1994 and has been passed as suitable for use in Kuwait By Government Laboratories and Testing Station.
Safety precautions
The following notes should be considered when using/applying painting material:- (a) Take precautions to prevent material entering the eyes (goggles should be worn, irrigate the eyes with water when become contaminated and obtain medical care at once). (b) Take precautions to avoid skin contact (gloves should be worn, barrier cream should be used). (c) Ensure that repeated contact of paint with skin is avoided. (d) Provide adequate ventilation. (Face masks must be worn). (e) Keep away from sparks and open flames (for solvent-based materials).
