A solvent-borne high build coating based on Alkyd Resin and Chlorinated Rubber, pigmented with a high quality light and weather fast pigment and tough inert extenders intended for marking and lining purposes.

FILM THICKNESS : Wet : 200-217 microns per coat (approx.7.9-8.5 mils) Depending on applied colour. Dry : 100 microns per coat (approx 3.9 mils). THEO. COVERAGE : 4.6 - 5 m2/ltr. Depending on colour (approx 46-50 running meters of 10 cm. Width/ Litre). Practical coverage primarily depends upon nature/degree of surface porosity, method of application and site conditions. FLASH POINT : Not more than 23 °C (74 °F) .

Surface preparation
• Surface to be coated must be dry , clean and free from dust, oil, grease and other surface contamination (SSPC-SP1 Solvent Cleaning is recommended). • Old and loosely adhering paint coating should be properly scraped-off to a firm edge.
Where to use
1) On Asphalt Substrates :- To be applied in a single high build coat or in two coat applications at specified thickness depending on specification requirements. 2) On Concrete Substrates :- To be applied in a single high build coat over a thinned down coat of itself with recommended thinner to a total dry film thickness of 125-150 microns or as required. 3) On Epoxy Paints/Coating To be applied in a single high build coat over GTC Epoxy Coating of equivalent provided that Epoxy Coating is fully cured. Reflection : In order to obtain reflection effect glass beads are to be incorporated as follows:- a) Drop-on Method : 0.4-0.5 kg of Glassbeads/ m2. b) Mix-in Method : 0.600 kg of Glassbeads/ltr. Paint.
Mixing and thinning
Material must be properly mixed and thinned to application viscosity with GTC Traffic Thinner Only. Method of application : Brush, Roller, conventional Spray, Airless Spray and Road Marking Equipments.
Cleaning tools
For cleaning tools and equipments use GTC Traffic Thinner.
Application conditions
At a temperature ranging 5°C (41°F) to 40°C (104 °F) . Relative humidity is below 75%.
Storage and handling
Product must be stored as per local regulations and should be kept in dry well ventilated location far from heat and direct sunlight. Can should be tightly closed after use. Mix well before use. Storage temperature range between 5°C (41°F) to 40°C (104 °F).
Standards and approvals
GTC Road Marking Paint is formulated according to Kuwait Standard Specification modified K.S.S. 17/1971 and has been passed as suitable for use in Kuwait by Government Laboratories and Testing Stations.
Safety precautions
The following notes should be considered when using/applying painting material:- (a) Take precautions to prevent material entering the eyes (goggles should be worn, irrigate the eyes with water when become contaminated and obtain medical care at once). (b) Take precautions to avoid skin contact (gloves should be worn, barrier cream should be used). (c) Ensure that repeated contact of paint with skin is avoided. (d) Provide adequate ventilation. (Face masks must be worn). (e) Keep away from sparks and open flames (for solvent-based materials).
